Tenerife has been one of the most popular tourist destinations with many people for a long time. Known for it's long sandy beaches, good all year round weather and some wonderful attractions and scenery it's no wonder Tenerife is popular with many people.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary islands, the resort of Puerto de la Cruz is one of the largest tourist resorts on the island and can accommodate around 30,000 people.

Tenerife is located towards the centre of the Canary Islands and has a surface area of 2,034 km². Like all of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is of volcanic origin, the last of the three eruptions that created the island happened about 3.5 million years ago. Tenerife is also home to the highest point in Spain, Mount Teide which is 3,717 m high.
